Overview
A modern gas-operated assault rifle that feeds from detachable box magazines typically holding 30 rounds. It fires intermediate cartridges with muzzle velocities around 880–900 m/s and an effective range of about 500 meters. The rifle weighs roughly 3.0–3.5 kg and supports semi-automatic or automatic fire depending on configuration. This gun design originates in the late 1900s.
